Hi my CA friends,
Today marks 2 weeks that we have left for our journey to the PNW. We have had a fabulous trip, the weather, the sites and of course Buchart Gardens in Victoria, BC.
We are presently in Castro Valley (Bay area). We arrived here today and will be here until Friday. We will be attending a memorial for my DD's FIL who passed away just before we left.
I did get to meet another DG friend in Salem, OR. Her name is Lenjo/Joann. We have talked over the yrs and it was so nice to finally meet her. We met at Swan Island Dahlias and walked through the beautiful fields of lovely flowers.
I have taken a lot of pictures, but unforturately I can't download them on the trip, so will have to post them when I get home. Speaking of home....can't wait to sleep in my own bed for a change. lol I sure hope I still have some gardens left with all the heat you've had these last 2 weeks.
We should be home Friday nite, so talk to you all then.

Hello from the road
Actually, the last several days have been just absolutely wonderful, but supposed to heat up again by the time you get home
Weren't the Buchart Gardens lovely? I know that I really enjoyed them! : - )
Glad you were finally able to meet your friend!
Safe journey home, you've been missed!

Donna I cannot wait to see all of the pictures. Have a safe journey home!
Can't wait to see you Donna, sounds like you've had a wonderful, well deserved vacation. Be safe on your way home.
We are home!!!
It's been a great 2 1/2 weeks, but I am glad to be home again.
I peeked at my gardens this morning and everything looks like it's still alive and growing well, especially the weeds.
DH and I are moving slowly this morning, just taking our time getting things put away and washed. We had another death in our family this week and the memorial is this afternoon. It will probably take until tomorrow until I find time to enjoy being home again. lol
I can't wait until I download all 212 pictures we took too. lol
Donna
So sorry to hear of another loss in your family.
Welcome back!
Did you get to visit Annie's Annuals (while you were in the bay area) and bring any fabulous plants home with you?
Glad you are home - nothing like it after a long trip, no matter how good it was! Ditto what Louise said.
Yes, I did get to go to Annies!!!!!!! It was on my 'wish' list to do on this trip and it was well worth it for sure. I bought several unusual plants, several I've never heard of before. I will have to get the names tomorrow as they are all outside right now and haven't had time to write them down yet. I also met Annie and she gave me a cutting herself off a plant that I was admiring in the garden area. That place is so darned organized....it has a list of where every plant is and a name on every darned plant in the place. I spent 2 whole hours wandering around there and hit almost every plant table there was.
Did I say how much fun I had yet???? lol
I'll get more organized tomorrow I hope. Today was another long day.

Welcome back! : - )
Sorry to hear about the death in your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
When you are ready, we'd like to see all 212 photos of your trip, or at least the ones you want to share. Do take your time. You've had a lot to process lately.
