Couple of this morning's blooms

Chewelah, WA(Zone 5a)

These are off the plants I was complaining about not blooming a couple of weeks ago. They're making up for lost time, but most of the blooms are facing the window and are behind the support I put up, darn it! However, I did coax a couple to smile for the camera.
This is another from my package of "mixed nils". Any ideas on ID?

From one of the Yoinotsuki plants. The ones I brought indoors are doing MUCH better than the ones that stayed outside. Lots of nice big blooms and, yea!, I see seed pods forming!

This is kind of interesting looking; I believe it's the result of a cross of Jamie Lynn and Kniola's Black.

Wow! Very pretty :)

I love the intense color of the first one. Karen

Thanks, I like it too. It has just a tiny bit of a white margin, too. Wish I knew what to call it.

I LOVE that blue one! The foliage is just as beautiful as the bloom :) What does the foliage on the pink one look like? And I love the detail on that last one. Lots to look at :) I don't know enough about naming them to help you with that, but I do know they are really beautiful.

Are the leaves variegated or solid?

Chewelah, WA(Zone 5a)

The pink (more like magenta) one has solid leaves.

The foliage on all the MGs I kept indoors is really lush and beautiful; almost worth growing just for the foliage. Oddly enough, the ones I grew in the same location last year didn't look anywhere this nice. I don't know what the difference is.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy the Yoinotsuki. Honest, it was blue this morning. :-)

It looks like it is a ipomoea nil small flower long vine variety. It reminds me of Cornell but the margin is wide on the Cornell. Anybody got any other ideas? Karen

Yes, the color looks very similar; however, the picture I posted is (so far) representative of the amount of white edge on all the blooms. They all have just a little bit. BTW, these seeds came from Japan, if that makes a difference.

It might have come in a Special Mix packet from Japan. I had some of those that were blue and had a little white like yours. They had some cool colors in the dark pink with and without the margin. That maybe is a good guess I think. :)

Woofie - Beautiful vines! I like your 'Yoi no Tsuki': http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/133768/ You should add a photo or two of yours also showing the beautiful variegated leaves. Only 2 photos posted so far in PlantFiles. :-)

I haven't a clue what the pretty pink one is. Perhaps Karen is right. It does look similiar to Cornell.

And I would have to agree that you I. purpurea is a lovely cross!

Nice flowers and vines you now have blooming! I am enjoying your photos! :-)

Becky, thanks for setting me straight on the name. The seed package I got had the name all run together. :-)
Maybe the pink one doesn't have a name. Maybe it's just a mutt, like my little I. purpurea cross. I'm going to try to make more of those, BTW. I ran out this morning with my paint brush and hand pollinated and marked several blooms. I'm curious to see if that cross will come true from seed.

That's a good idea, to post a pic of the foliage in the PF. I think I had a picture that showed just the foliage, before the Yoi no Tsuki bloomed. Do you think I should post a picture that shows the color later in the day? Or is that just a peculiarity of the specific environment I have it in?

You could do both a foliage picture as well as a photo of the late day bloom after it has changed color. Be sure to put a note about it in comments with the photo, stating that it is a color-change wilting bloom.
