I am just so thrilled, I just had to share. I grew Kannami for the first time last year, and was of the seeds I tried to start only one germinated, I have been getting blooms for a few weeks, but this morning was the best I have seen so far this year!

Deb - That photo of your bloom is really stunning! I've never grown Kannami, but it looks similiar to the Kohkan cultivar that I have grown for the past 2 years. I hadn't heard of yours before. Is it a new one from Japan? Just beautiful! What do the leaves look like on your vine?
You should add that one to PlantFiles, too, along with some shots of the leaves!!!

This was from a new pack my mom purchased from Japan. I sent the packet to Ron C. he was going to scan it when he got his scanner running (that was back in the winter), and I haven't heard from him. He did verify that the pack was Kannami, though. I sent Joseph a few seeds from my plant last year. Maybe he'll post some pictures of his Kannami blooms, too.

PS: I'm sure I posted pictures last year, I will try to find those and put in a link here. I'll get some pictures of the leaves next time I'm out with my camera. Oh, and I did add that picture to plant files, along with a second shot with the flower in profile.
