I promised Clare that I would post some pictures of some of the plumeria blooms that have started to bloom for me. I am not normally a very patient person, but I must say that you do get rewards for patience with plumerias-they don't let you down! After two years-here are some of the blooms.
Starting off with EWC #3. This is a very vibrant hot pink-you can see it from far away-it really catches your eye, and the scent is not bad. Not as strong as I would like-though it gets stronger, but it lasts a long time.
great summer for plumeria blooms!
Lat but not least is Singapore white. This is a very reliable bloomer, of course, but to all that are just starting to get a collection going-this is a must! Scent is great also, and this has been blooming non-stop for at least 6 weeks, i think.!
Also have Kimo, Kaneohe Sunset and Celadone blooming as well-just no buds open right now. And I am waiting on at least 3-4 other ones to start blooming. I am amazed at how many of them are blooming this summer. Anyway-thanks for looking everyone, and I hope everyone has had a great plumeria summer too!! :)
Awesome pictures, Terry! Thanks for sharing them! I totally agree that Singapore White is a must. I have two of them; that's how much I love it. It has a wonderful fragrance.
I think your pale pink might be one that I've nicknamed 'Brad's White' because it came from Brad (FlyboyFL), and he passed many cuttings out to many members here (through me and directly to others). I think I must have sent you one. It starts out pale pink and fades to white pretty quickly. It's a good bloomer.
Keep sharing your pics! They are great!
Thanks Dutchlady. It is fun to see them bloom-the anticipation of it. When I lived in Hawaii-it was so easy, and you took them for granted. Now I look at them totally differently.
Clare-you may be right. I do remember getting a Brads white from you. I do have a Pacific Pearl (Did I get the name right?-too dark to go look outside) getting ready to bloom. Also the "nub" is going to open some blooms soon. Remember the "nub"? lol it was a cutting that rotted and I kept cutting off the bottom until there was only 3" at the top and it rooted!! lol I posted pictures of it on someones thread to show them not to give up. Makes me laugh whenever I see it. I will show pictures of that one and you guys will know what it is.
Ok-i did the plumeria bloom pictures-now for the real fun! Here is Chloe (in the back) sleeping with her "boyfriend" Bentley. Bentley is my son's dog and sometimes he comes and spends the night with us so she can play with him. They look tired here.
Oh my goodness. That could be a picture by Wyeth. They are so adorable there.
My 'Pacific Pearl' is blooming it's head off too -- four inflo's on one small tree. I love it. It has the best fragrance. I think you will really like it.
Ah, yes. I do remember "the nub." I have a few of those myself. That's great that it's going to bloom for you.
I thought I lost Duke the other day. It looked like he had a seizure in the middle of the night. He peed on his bed and couldn't get up. His face looked really strange, and his eyes couldn't focus and were doing rapid eye movement from side-to-side. We thought he had a stroke, seizure, or anurism that caused neurological damage, and I called the mobile vet to come. I looked up all his symtoms and found that it was Vestibular Disease: http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_vestibular_disease.html which clears up on it's own. He has improved greatly in a couple of days, but he still can't get up. I was changing his bed a couple of times a day, but now I have a pad and Depends under him, and I wrapped his bed in big plastic bags before putting a sheet over it so changing the bed is easy now. He is drinking plenty of water but refuses to eat. I put Tri-tip in front of him yesterday, but he wouldn't eat it. His eye movement looks much better so he should be dizzy anymore, but he might still be nauseous. My 84-year-old mother-in-law is here, and I keep changing her Depends too. There is way too much urine in this house. She has Parkinson's and is staying with us for a few weeks so she can recuperate from her hospital stay. Please pray for me that I survive this.
Will you post a picture of that big handsome boy for us all to see? He is way too special for just you to see! Going to dmail you. Maybe try some tuna. Wasn't it you that told me to try when I was trying to catch Mango back when she was a wild kitten?
Well, its not Brads white, I found that one this am and it is going to bloom soon. Not sure if I do have Pacific pearl, but I hope so-thats a beautiful one. So what do you think the one is that isn't Brad's White? I can't believe I have stumped everyone, but esp you Clare! The back is as pale as the front.
Forgot to say that if anyone has any special (aren't they all?) pictures of their pets they want to post here-go for it! I love to see everyones pets.

LOL! Yes, that is what lured Mango. I don't know if he will eat Tuna, but I'm going to try cat food because that's his favorite.
Give me a minute to look at your flower again, and I'll tell you what I think. I gotta run for a bit. My mom and her husband and my brother are coming over for an early dinner and to see the new place.
Thanks for the wonderful picture of Bentley and Duchess. They are so precious. You are helping me get through the day for sure.
Here is a picture of Duke, taken just a few minutes ago.
Yep, 'Slaughter Pink,' I think.
LOL is that Duke's bed? It looks so comfy-if I was there, we'd be sharing it, I'll tell you that! Clare-Duke has the nicest eyes I have ever seen on anyone-I love seeing pictures of him, thanks for showing him off.
I think you are right-it is Slaughter Pink-I knew you would know!
Now here is Seona-the last kitten that I rescued-well, that makes me sound too good. I tried to say no for 10 min, but then cracked. She is a sweetheart.
Lets have a picture of Buddy now...lol
Oh, Seona is a little sweetheart. I would be thinking that I wanted to adopt her the first 10 seconds of meeting her! That picture made me smile, and what a great chair. You're so sweet to my Duke. Somehow, it is comforting that someone across the country cares about him too. Here's my little Buddy:
I forgot to say that, yes, it one of his beds. He has one in the bedroom, one in my office, and one in the livingroom, and he used to rotate between them during the day, depending on who was eating something where. I actually did sleep with him on the floor on his bed a couple of times this past week.
he looks like we all did awhile ago, taking a little nap! I love the palm sheet. I wish I had some for my bed. That is great that he is doing better-this is such a roller coaster ride! I don't know how you do it.
Here is my buddy-speaking of-yours looks so handsome, I really love the color of his coat, It is so unusual, and his eyes are so pretty-that green. Anyway, thats so funny that you showed one of him sleeping on his back because thats what I was trying to do with this picture but he woke up. He is sleeping in the windowsill-his new spot this summer.
Seona hides her head too when shes sleeping. I wish I had a picture of her face-its such a funny little face. Mango used to beat her up all the time when I first brought her home, and Buddy would step in and protect Seona. Now Seona can watch out for herself, but it was hard sometimes to see Mango do it. It was a long year until Seona got bigger. I would hear from people that worked here how Mango was out there beating up Seona , alternating paws hitting her, and then finally using both paws at once!
Absolutely terrific pictures, Terry. I am smiling ear to ear as I go through them. Your Buddy is such a character. He cracks me up. Chloe is so photogenic and reveals a sweet nature in her face. Bear is just adorable even when sound asleep. Mango has grown so big since you first got her. She knows she has a good thing there with you and didn't want to share that with Seona, I guess. Seona is so cute. You are such a good and caring person to adopt these sweet souls. Here's my theory: animals are really angels put on earth to live their lives for the benefit of human kind. How human kind treats animals determines what happens after death. I treat all animals as if they are gifts from God.
Those palm sheets were t-shirt cotton knit sheets that I had for my bed that I got at Costco. Duke gets them when they get too worn for our bed. They do seem to wear out quickly, but they are so comfortable. I wish Costco still carried them, but I've been looking, and they don't anymore -- at least not here.
We asked Duke if he wanted to get up, and he did with our help, and he walked back into the bedroom. This is huge progress, and I'm so delighted. He's old, but it's not his time yet. I still have him for a little while longer, and that makes me happy:-)
I'm happy to report that Duke is back to normal. He's still a little weak, but he is eating and walking and going potty outside with a one accidental blow-out exception last night while he was asleep. We got him all cleaned up, and he is enjoying life again. He's actually not as whiny and needy as he was before this happened. My husband joked that, if he returns to being a complete baby again, we'll give him an inner ear problem again! LOL!
