Let's see you Fall Blooms
That looks like a pretty one, Joanne. A lot of peeps were complaining about this one not looking like the catalogue photos. Are yours pretty consistent? Where did you get your seeds?
I got the cherry brandy seeds from Thompson & Morgan and McFayden. They all look the same, but I'm not sure which ones I have. (I sell/trade/give-away a lot of annual seedlings in the spring)
Thanks Joanne, that's good to know. Apparently they were T&M's introduction. Maybe I'll try some next year.
Mona, did you grow Lisianthus from seed as an annual?
yes by seed but not as an annual I am bringing them in with my dahlias it took for ever for them to grow and bloom, started them in january for august blooms but next summer they will bloom all summer and today is the day they are coming in
Hmmmm, ok. I ordered some seeds, so I'll start them in January too. Thanks.
no problem make sure to use a dome and a south facing window as seedling they do not like transplanting so put a few seeds each in three inch pots and keep them in those till you transplant outside and they like it a little on the dry side after the first true leaves come out, but they are worth the work I just so enjoyed them this year, I cut so many to bring inside since they last over two weeks in a vase
OK...will do. Thanks for the tips.
your blue Poppy Anemone.
how tall do they get and did you grow that from seed or did you plant the what I call the stones and is that one a perennial in your zone which is close to mine
I just love blue flowers
I bought Anemone "De Caen" Blue Poppy as bulbs from Botanus. They grow to be 10 inches (24 cm) tall. Love the sapphire blue color of the blossoms too. It is an annual in our zone.
so is it not possible to lift the bulbs and store them as I do with summer bulbs?????
I have a dozen boxes of them in the basement at the moment
I have never tried it, but I don't see why not. Please keep us posted if you are successful. Good Luck.
