The Monarchs have arrived at my place. My only worry is that I may not have enough asclepias this year for them to feed from...a lot have died out and although I've got some natives going (to establish large stands for future feeding), they are still small seedlings and I'll have to keep watch on them to make sure any cats get transferrred to larger plants. I watched one today flitting from plant to plant amongst the salvias, looking for asclepias...she would go to one, say, nope, then move on to the next, hitting most of them before laying eggs all over the asclepias......
Monarchs
What a delight! : - )

I wish they'd come this way!
I suspect that anyone buying any asclepias from nurseries at this time will be taking home cats. While at the Fullerton Arboretum sale today, there were Monarchs flitting around their asclepias also.....
I got a few this summer flitting through even though I don't have any asclepsias (because they're so toxic, I can't even touch them without breaking out in hives). It was thrilling!
I guess I need to plant some of those asclepsias, after I check and see if I have allergies to them. Sigh!
