5teve,

my research shows that your damselfly is also known by the name Calopteryx virgo and is then placed in the family Calopterygidae: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beautiful_Demoiselle

It is hard to be sure which name is current, but therre are more references to it as Calopteryx virgo and so I have created the entry using that name.

I have noted the synonym of Agrion virgo and will add it when Dave provides the means of storing synonyms in BugFiles.

The new entry is here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/5708/

Thanks for your help, interesting the name I looked it up in a French guide before comming back and reading your comments I found a close relative Calopteryx splendens (colour on wings starts after the nodus) which my books is Arion splendens my info is obviously out of date

Thanks again for your time and a great site
