Grafting a fruit tree this time of year?

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

I had a Harvey lemon on flying dragon root stock and it simply got to cold for the Harvey part, bloomed in Jan. followed a few days later by our coldest days of the year. Harvey is gone but the root stock is fine and I'm thinking of trying to graft a myers lemon on to the root stock all ready in the ground.

I need to read up on how to do it, have a basic idea how it's done. Is this a good time of year to try doing that? I'll be over 50 degrees for months to come. Some years I don't even go under 32, not sure if that makes a difference.

It is best to graft in the spring, from the time the buds of understock trees are beginning to open, until blossom time. The usual time is April or early May.

Actually I got a good answer over on the Carolina forum. Seems with citrus I can do it anytime depending on how I graft it.
