Hi everyone. I was just down in Newport Beach for my son's wedding, and when strolling along in front of the beach houses we saw a small-leafed shrub with brilliant orange flowers. Many houses had them, what are they? They weren't hibiscus - small flowers I thought maybe California fuchsia? but photos on google don't look quite right.
what is the orange shrub
Is this the flower? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2247/
Hope it helps.

no, the flowers were more tubular/fuchsia like in shape
Tall? Short? Wide? Try and picture it in your head and describe what you see. Orange isn't THAT common - maybe someone will recognize the description.
Tecomaria///Cape Honeysuckle.....
Tecoma stans? Try this one. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/135927/
Can you take a photo?

Wow, darker orange, than mine, wcgypsy. Now I wonder if mine is really a Tecoma stans. Wait what city was she asking about? Ah, Newport Beach. I'll defer to wcgypsy on this one unless we get a photo. Even then prolly! : - )
