Will Tonite be THE Night? Epi. Oxy. Blooms
Thanks, Sandy -- sorry about your hand. Hope it feels better today.
Sandy, praying for speedy healing. Take good care.
Neat idea, Jean.

I like the way you present your bloom. So creative!
Thanks, Lily. This will probably start to close up pretty soon, but would last through say, lunch or dinner as a table decoration. There isn't much scent, but maybe it's my allergies that keep me from smelling it, except a faint whiff now and then.
Great, Lily! Got to FL late this afternoon and peeked outside and saw 3 buds on Grandma G's plant. They should be opening next week. Haven't checked them closely, but was afraid that they might be eaten up by bugs. Tomorrow DH will get out the riding mower and do some mowing and I will do some weeding and I can take a closer look. Saw some of those tiny pinhead blooms trying to form on my two plants in AR -- if they mature, this will be the fifth time for them to bloom this year -- hope they aren't going to bloom themselves to death!
Jean
Remember to eat more banana for those Epi. after they finish blooming, Jean. :-)
Alright Lily! Looks like they are getting close! Don't forget to check them again later tonight.
Welcome Home Jean!
Thank Plantladylin, I don't think they will open tonite, lol. But I'll get back and check on them before bed time. :-)
Thanks Plantlady! Lily, I found with mine the last couple of times they bloomed if you look at the tips of the buds late in the afternoon, they have begun to separate, and you can see white through the pink whatevers (unscientific term LOL) that are coveing them. The plant down here seems to start opening earlier than the ones in AR, whether it is the light or what that causes that, your guess is as good as mine
Grandma G's epi just might open tonite. If not tonite, it will be soon. I will have to find a shadier spot for it, however. It is a little sunburned. We had some trees cut close to where it usually hangs out in the summer, and we lost some of the shade. Had it close to a window so I could shine a flashlight on it to check if it was opening during the night, rather than stumbling around outside in the dark! How is that for laziness???????
Hi everyone, I've had one 'Hookerii' epi. bloom. Three Epi Oxy. blooms. But the camera software is acting up .... Grrrrrrr!
Good going.
mine are showing signs of recovering from our extreme hot summer. I found a fan/mister that I am going to get. LOL
Sandy
Good news Lili on your blooms. Mine did bloom last night and it is all explained in new thread. Sandy hope your fan/mister works for you. Glad your plants are showing signs of recovering.
Jean
Lili: Glad to hear both of your Epi's showed you some blooms! Sorry though about the camera software, doesn't that make ya mad?
Sandy ... inquiring minds want to know, where did you find the fan/mister?? I would love to get one for my deck, the plants would love it and I would too!
Amazon.com of course. I think this is the one I am going to get but they have others.

i have not had time to check out the watering systems. I go tomorrow to find out if they can do anything with my shoulder. But I have ordered the stuff to finish the shade house with.

Sandy
Thanks for that info Sandy! Good luck with your Dr. appt. tomorrow ... I will keep good thoughts going your way in hopes there is something they can do for your shoulder. Keep us posted on how it goes with your shade house.
