all i did was cut off the crown of the pineapple, and removed the bottom leaves. i placed it in soil but that wasnt working verry well, so i put in in a cup of water and its growin roots like crazy!

it will produce another fruit!...takes 2 years for the plant to mature and produce a fruit though.

how long did it take to root? I tried to root it in water before and it just rotted out ;(
well i started it in the dirt. it was in there for about 2 weeks, it wasnt doing anything and i got impatient so....i put it in a cup of water and in about 1 week i started to see tiny little roots emerge! iv had it in the cup for about 4 weeks and now the roots are about 3/4 inch long.i just put it in the ground yesterday! iv heard they can be kind of fussy so im keepin my fingers crossed!! =)
