Please be thinking...

...of our troops. We may train hard and act tough...and maybe we/they are, but we're all human. I know there are many of our guys over there, near/in a strange land...not knowing what they will face. I just know a lot of them must be scared to death right now. The job will still get done, but it must surely be a lonely time for them. Not knowing if they'll ever see their wife and kids again must surely weigh heavily of them right now...not to mention, their own fate.

You are so right. I know that the Red Cross and loads of volunteers called adoptaplatoon work hard to set soldiers in Kosovo and Macedonia up with families who "adopt" them, sending letters, cards, care packages, etc. I would hope, that when troops get camps set up, that the same will happen there too. please dont forget that the servicemembers that will be deploying are leaving behind wifes, husbands, kids, family.
if you know of a family in your area, offer to cut the grass, fix the sceen, take the child to football practice, change the oil in the car, babysit for 2 hours (no charge) just to give them a break. the list is endless on ways to say "thanks"

At last, something we can all agree on!! Thanks Marty :-) This has crossed my mind so many times and especially after yesterday. Two things happened - my sister phoned from Arizona and told me that her son had received papers, not to enlist, but to have him registered I suppose. If the conflict goes on for more than a year I guess he will go to war. She was so upset!! Then, while in town yesterday, saw two young men coming out of the recruitment office. They looked so young. I felt sad!!
