This spider was busily cocooning a fly when I walked by. It is in our garden and has built an incredibly intricate web. I would have liked to have taken a better picture but when it comes to spiders, I tend to leave well enough alone. ;)

Can you help ID
Without seeing the upper side of it, about all I can say is that it is an orb weaver (family Araneidae); likely in the genus Araneus. All orb weavers are harmless to humans.
