David Thompson from our USA who hybridizes the prettiest streps and has many many of them. He also has hybridized african violets, hibiscus and many other outstanding plants.

Thanks, Gail, where do you buy those?

I buy avs from everywhere but last night I bought (not streps as I already have all of his).....I bought on ebay from plant_maniac...........he usually lists on a Monday night and close on Saturday night........

But I order wherever I can find what I am looking for. Rob has good plants.

Hey Jan, Nice to see you are feeling better.. I took some pictures this morning and just got them resized.. So here are a few blooming at my house.... Also some of the babies I have growing... the plastic tub will have doubles of all I have so they will have to go to people who want them... I have very few names of the babies as the cat knocked the box over once again....
Hugs,
Sue
PS. Will also show you how Jim's babies grew in water and then grew babies.

gorgeous pics Sue! You haven't been too bad of a plant mom, in my estimation;)

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Sue, in the last pic where you mention you have to pot up the tray- did you cover that box while they were rooting? they look so big and healthy! How long did they take to get that way?
I want to try some strep leaves again. I lost all of my leaf starts to mealie bug last year! I do not know where these monsters came from, but it was one heartwrenching nightmare! I had potted several to a tray and lost all of them because they shared the same soil. This time I will be smarter!, and pot each leaf in it's own solo cup in case there are any creatures lurking about.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Pat, I can root streps in water much better then in dirt... The ones in the picture that are in the tub of soil are older then the ones in water... I just kill them most of the time in soil. The first three pictures are of the leaves I took out of the water... You may see soil on the bottom but that is because I was potting up... Look close and you will see that all the roots are bare not covered with soil.... The picture with the cups in the green tray were grown in water....
Bonnie, soon as I am done typing this I will go find the names of the Sinns... Threre are only a few of them so I can do that..LOLOL I am lazy....
Now Ms. Gail, The names are on the tags in the pot and I am to lazy to take picture and do names... Yes Pink Souffle is there....
Pat, I posted a picture of water rooting on this forum, maybe if you go back it may still be around... If not let me know and I will repeat how I do it...
