Beautiful!

Where is Brenda anyway? I haven't seen her posting in a long time.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I visited with her in an email about 6 weeks ago. She said she is totally immersed in her husband's business and will be back either in November or December. Plus, she is still sitting with her grandchildren 3 days a week.

I can't wait for her to come back. I potted up babies from her leaves just this past week............she has the prettiest streps living in such a cool cool summer and all those windows for winter in Idaho.

What a pretty plant!

(Zone 1)

Wow! That is one gorgeous Strep! Oh how I wish I could grow them!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Don't you just love the fantasies when some are true and some are solid!! Really beautiful!

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

How long ago was that plant just a leaf?

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

It was never a leaf at my house. Brenda sent me a crown from one of her plants at the end of March. I stuck in my soil mix and it took off. Very pleased and it is definitely my prized gessie.

Hi Don ,

I love your Space Dust , I had two small plants but they slowly died , i have trouble keeping small plants alive , they live for a few months and then the leaves slowly dry up from the ends up and then they are gone , but I plan to try and get another of her and give it another try cause once I get my streps big they grow like weeds ......................your's is gorgeous , glad you have her to enjoy :)

Connie :)

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

Thanks Connie. And good luck with yours in the future. I must admit, Streps are, IMHO, a little fussier than AV's. I went so far as to take this plant on vacation in our motorhome this past June, so I could give it the TLC it demands. I have Space Dust growing in loosely packed mixture of AV soil, perlite and vermiculite, and it requires more watering (feeding) than my AV's, but the results are worth it. ^_^

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

I still believe that you have to do a division of the fantasy plants to keep the fantasy .seems like the leaves always revert to solid.

Good to know, Bonnie. I'll keep that in mind for the future.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks for telling me that, Bonnie!!!

Hello All,
I love your space dust... the colors are just eye catching... Funny how some can knock your socks off and others are pretty but the socks stay on...LOL
Have been missing from here but will try to make it back more often now... My plants are all alive and I found out that while I was trying to get my butt out of my rear that I did not take care of my plants the way they should have but they have been very forgiven to the point I feel maybe I should neglect them more often... I had leafs down that Jim sent me several months ago.. I had them in water and some times they would dry up and not get water again for a week... or they had such green stuff on them that I thought they would die... Well the leaves thrived and then started to grow in the cup... babies like crazy... Go figure... If I tried this they would have just croaked...LOL
Hope to post a few pictures later.. Hope you all have been well and I missed you all...
Hugs,
Susan
PS. Welcome to all who are new.... and welcome to the club of Hi, My name is Susan and I am an addict to streps and other flowers... hahahahaha

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Welcome back Susan!! ^_^

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Susan, we miss you!!!! I have to tell you that your plumeria which blooms the hottest pink and yellow has been beautiful. The Asian girl who does my nails and I trade plants all the time and she was dying for the one (of many) you sent me. So I whacked a big cutting and took it to her.

This isn't a good picture because it was taken when she first started blooming.....but want you to see.........can't find it right now.
Welcome back and don't stay away so long!

I have Lil Thornbird as well and it is another excellent bloomer.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Pat,
They are adorable!!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Ooooh Pat! Glad to know that Little Chippery Trail looks like that. I do have two pots of her but she hasn't bloomed yet. I may put all of them together in a 6" basket when they get a little bigger!!
My little pots of Chippery Trail don't look as good as yours. Mine keep losing foliage on the main stem below. (maybe I am keeping them too wet as I do wick all avs)

Rob's Loose Noodles is to die for!!

Never heard of Lucie Demers but she is a winner for sure!!

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. I have been potting up, watching tennis and football all day long!!! This is a nice break!!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the welcome... I have two plumerias this year that never bloomed for me... They are beautiful.... I am having problems with deer this year... They eat them down to the stem... If they don't watch out I am going to get the shot gun out and have some deer hambergers in the freezer... I will try tomorrow to get a few pictures of mine... I have to get rid of so many of them as I have a hard time tending to them. I want to see the colors before I give them the boot... they do much better in your state then mine...
Ok have to get the bug bomb off me before it kills me...LOL
Hugs,
Susan

Gail, my plants are all wick watered too. Litlle Chippery Trail is really nice and full. It's just one plant that has branched out very nicely. Do you want me to add Rob's Loose Noodle and Lucie Demers to your list?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

yes mam!!! I am coming across so many semi minis I got from Fred...............that are so cute!!!
Got to keep planting up.......(lol)

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I don't have any AV pix right now, since I'm trying to keep things disbudded.

However . . .

AV's are not the only things I grow now!

This is Alsobia Chiapas. I can't see the spots in the photo preview, but they are there!

These next three were from the RR . . . This one is labeled as Franken Allison . . . I don't know - it has more pink in person than it does in my pic or the strep site . . .

That doesn't really do it justice, now does it? Let's see if this one looks any better . . . please don't look at the dusty windowsill!!! Spiritual Corridor is in the lower right corner . . .

Yea for Nichole with pretty streps!!! Don't you just love Spiritual Corridor and ALL of them.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Franken Copper Knob - one of them - is getting ready to bloom, too! Then the babies that I separated last week or 2 are actually surviving! At least, none have been tossed!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Last week I separated 5 trays of strep babies and some are doing fantastic and others I should have domed for a couple of days or three............

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Syru,
Just love your pictures!! Spiritual Corridor seem to never stop blooming.I think that's true of many DT Streps.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Very nice Nichole! Your spiritual corridor is beautiful.
