Very cool! I'll have to see if we have one near us. Apparently not in our state at all. :-(

That's where I get all my bird food. Except they don't carry the finch mix that I get at Walmart. Red and White Millet and Nyjer mixed. No milo.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Hey Rose...I just got back from a walk and I think I got me a Wilson's Warbler...maybe!!! That would be a new one for me....

This cute baby cardinal (?) flew into my window and landed flat on its back. We turned him/her right-side-up and left the bird to emotionally recover, so to speak, without scaring him further with additional touching. Baby appears to have finally recovered and continues to demand food from its father. Happy Ending, Snug, :o)

Hey Rose, nothing wrong with those shots at all. Pretty quail

nanny, I haven't seen any Red-bellied WP in a while around here. You got a good shot!

Mrs_Ed, thanks for the suet web site, I'll be stock-piling. Do your birds like the red millet?

pelle, that sure is a striking blackbird!

Mrs_Ed, I've got the check out Walmart, most of my stuff I buy from Lowe's. I discovered something at Petsmart called "Morning Song". My birds really seem to like it (I've had to re-fill that feeder more frequently than my other feeders).

nanny, I don't know what kind a warbler that is, but it sure is pretty.

I saw a Goldfinch at my thistle/sunflower seed chips feeder today, but by the time I got my camera he was gone. Dang it.

Bye, Bye y'all
I think I hear a bird
Hack

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

It sure looks like a Wilsons to me Nanny and congrats! They sure are a pretty little bird.

Snug...so glad the little juvie is fine.

Hack...I'm sure the Goldfinch will return...we don't call them piggies for nothing!

Klamath River, CA

Due to mechanical problems, Franks' Creek was dry for awhile, but it back running again and the birds are happy about that.

Very nice pics adel! Glad the creek is back up and running!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Glad to see the creek and those Steller's again!

WOO HOO Nanny! Well I think it IS the beginning of Nanny, queen of warblers season.

Hack, mostly i feed BOSS, but i had an indigo bunting this spring, so picked up some of the finch mix. The doves gladly eat it and the sparrows take care of some too.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I better be getting off my duff then...LOL!!!!

We took the kitten and her momma to a new home last night. I am very, very sad( keep crying) and I miss them terribly. SO maybe if I get busy looking for the warblers that will distract me and cheer me up.

There was some little blue/gray warbler flitting around in this same tree as this Cardinal, but I never got a clear shot. I think it was probably a Nashville.

That is great nanny! I am still keeping an eye out here for the Kinglets and Warblers but no sign of them yet here. It has been awful to go outside as even when your legs and arms are covered some type of bugs keep biting my fingers and buzzing around my head.

BTW,this thread will be running a little longer. Margaret will start a new one early tomorrow morning.

Hi everyone, it has been a pretty sunny day. But I don't know where all the birds went? All day long, and I didn't see many at the feeder. Except this young Cardinal. I can see it's a young one since its beak hasn't completetly turned orange yet. Isn't she cute?

We also have several juvenile Cardinals...some of them look pretty strange!

Here is a little female.

We also have several juvie American Goldfinches. They are very noisy when they are begging their parents for food!

Great pics Rose! I also think it gets confusing trying to tell the sex at some point of the Cardinals development.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I agreed, it's difficult to tell the gender of the young Cardinal. Oooh, I've good news. There are more than one juvenile Redheaded WP in the brood! I saw at least 4-5 Redheads this morning, but fail to capture a good picture.

That is cool Lily! I went walking and I saw and heard lots of little birds moving in the brush along the road. I thing there were some kinglets!! Will be and out tomorrow morning looking!

Saw several juvenile Blue Birds today. Here is one of them.
