My new neighbor was moving in today, and a few fronds(?) of her christmas cactus broke off. I rescued the bits and want to get 'em growing again. The original plant and the rescued fronds are a little "bony" looking from being underwatered.
What's the best way for me to proceed with these cuttings?
Thanks!

Christmas Cactus - Rescuing fallen pieces...
Stick them in a pot full of potting medium and tent them with a baggie until you see new growth. One joint needs to be underground. Two is better but not needed. An equal part is best above ground. To much above ground is not better. I put three cuttings in a four inch pot. I intentionally mix varieties in the same pot.
I have the best luck rooting them in water - a smallish clear cup or vase so just a little in under water.
