This fellow flew in for his Sunday outing into my yard when I was loitering in it with camera in hand. Who is this visitor and what is his name, please?
CLOSED: Which is this butterfly with many rings on wings?
This is a brush-footed butterfly (family Nymphalidae). It is in the genus Mycalesis, known as bushbrowns; it resembles Mycalesis mineus (see http://tinyurl.com/ktl4wh), but this is a large genus, with several species that superficially resemble one another.
Checked the links. I'll go for it.
