It must be love! (Part 2)

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Hello!

The original thread is now almost two years old, with
many wonderful pictures of heart-shaped items found not
only at our home, but many wonderful Dave's Garden friends
as well.

Here is our older thread:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/722359/

Because the thread is getting a bit long, I thought it might be
a good time to start a new one, and with that, we also have a
new heart picture!

For those new to the "It must be love" thread, I began finding various
heart shaped items around the house and gardens. Once I started
posting pictures, it seems the findings came more often. None of my
heart pictures are altered, nothing is sculpted or cut to look like a heart,
the photos are taken of the items as they are found.

Today's find: While preparing a kiln for firing, I noticed one of the shelf
supports was clogged with clay, mud or something else, so I banged it
on a nearby table. I peered into the hole and found it was still clogged, so
I banged it again. When I looked the next time, I kid you not, this is what I
discovered:

How cool is that?! LOL I "love" finding stuff like that.

Wuvie that is wonderful!

Way cool! I'm new here and though I don't need anything else to do, I think I'm going to join in on this, I'll start looking this evening unless the Bald Faced Hornets in my Muscadine vine are out, then maybe not.

LOL, that's perfect!

(Zone 7a)

Never noticed that clover has perfect hearts, too.

True! Great close-up shot--I never knew it had 'fuzz'!

(Zone 7a)

Thank you! I'm surprised by how fuzzy most leaves are.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow! That's a great picture! I found hearts yesterday but kept getting circled by hornets so I didn't go back out with my camera. I'll try again this evening.

That is a wonderful clover.. Crissyr hope you can get a pic...Be careful!

Wuvie my dear! How I have missed you! I've been gone from DG for almost a year and couldn't wait to get back here and find this thread (well the old one led me here). Over the last yr I've seen soooo many hearts here and there and thought of YOU every time. One I even took a pic of, JUST FOR YOU because I knew you'd love it.

I was taking my Sheltie, Baxter, out one morning last winter and went to walk down my front steps that had snow on them. Baxter was running up and down the steps telling me to hurry. I looked down and saw the heart. It was a mark made from the gutters dripping, lol. Why or how it made a heart shaped mark, I don't know. Never did it again...and I looked for it. Hope you enjoy!!! :-)

I still have that pic on my phone and everyone loves to see it. Funny how the simplest things can make us smile, isn't it? :-)

Ok, so where have I seen hearts that I didn't take pics of over the last yr?

One VERY memorable one is in a local convenience store restroom, rotflol. The doors and walls are black with white speckles. You guessed it...there are 3 speckles very close together that form a heart. Obviously I frequent this restroom a lot (love their coffee!). But, I just can't bring myself to take a pic in a public restroom stall. Just...can't...do...it. I just know I'd walk out and my bf's Mom would be standing there or something. Yeah, explain that one.

The VERY BEST use I've come up with for the heart shaped treasure hunt tho was...on a recent trip to Columbus, OH with a friend's 4 yr old in tow!! I took the 4 yr old out into the gravel parking lot when we stopped to eat and the poor kid just could NOT sit still for another second. Poor kid. But still there was nothing for him to do. So....we spent 45 minutes looking for heart shaped rocks. LOL!! It occupied him and he was happy. We NEVER found ONE that was even close to heart shaped. Amazing, huh? I figured we'd find 5. Just goes to show these really aren't everywhere.

Here's a pic someone sent me in a text message and I've wanted to share with all of you for a YEAR. So glad I'm back on DG!!! It's good to be home. :-)

Heather!!! LOL Sooooo glad to see you around again! I was wondering what happened to you.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey Kwanjin, just started a new thread here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1045592/ for the missing me. lol

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Heather, my gosh, welcome home! Not only did you come in
with a smile and happy notes, but heart pictures, too! You're the best!
Will have to come visit your thread, hope you have been well!

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Very well, thank you. I don't want to go OT, so yes, please come and visit! :-)

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Yet another!

Sitting in the office, one night I looked over to see this light reflection on the side of the desk.

Odd, considering the hole that made this image is actually a diamond shaped cut-out in an incense burner.

Mine do that, too!!!

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

cool pic WUVIE, thanks for sharing. My good phone with the nice camera broke, so all the hearts I see go un-digitized, but I still think of you and everyone on this thread when I see one. I could use my current phone if y'all can stand the icky pics...

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Icky pics or not, the intent will still show. :) Glad you're willing to share.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, as luck would have it, my icky pic phone just died yesterday, lol. A friend gave me his practically new phone. Looks like it takes pretty good pics...now I'm just waitin' to snap a few! Don't ya just love how things work out?? ;-)

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

LOL, 'icky pic'...

(Zone 7a)

Brings on all kinds of visuals, doesn't it? LOL

Thank goodness for farmer's markets! That's where I got these strawberries, and they are soooo yummy. I noticed this one on top of the basket, and that's why I bought that particular basket, lol.

I soooo want to find something heart shaped so I can post but so far no go...guess I'm not as alert as you all are...still boggles my mind at just how many things you have found ...

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Don't lose hope, Bettypauze, that was the first one I found that I had a camera around to take the picture, lol.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

How funny, I came to update with a new picture and see that Ky has
found a similar berry of love!

Too cute!

Here is a berry found in a recent basket, Hubby was informed he could
not eat this one until we took a picture of it. :-)

for several years now I've been looking for a heart..this weekend I'm going to walk around and solely look for heart shape and post a photo..in the years I've watched this thread it's been a no go..maybe I should dig up a heart shape garden..lol

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Hey, that would be beautiful! You could use plants with 'heart' in the name, like bleeding hearts...I say Go for it! :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

LOL, now you have me thinking...

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Here ya go:

Lots to pick from, LOL. If you really do it, please post pics! ♥ ♥ ♥

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

It has been a while since I last found something with a heart, but it is time!

A coffee cup slipped from my hands while washing dishes, smacking
on the middle divide of the sink. The result? Another wonderful, and
surprising heart shape to add to my collection!

Ouch, sorry about your cup, but hey, you've got a good eye so you found something positive there!

(Zone 7a)

Cool find!

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey y'all!! Love the berry pics...and sorry to hear about your coffee cup, hope it wasn't a favorite, but very cool result. Ok WUVIE I will admit it...I think I've stolen your "seeing hearts everywhere" blessing. I can't seem to go more than 3 days without seeing one somewhere. They are always in the strangest places...a piece of string on the floor, a crumpled up reciept on top of the garbage can, in the potato peels in the sink, a fuzzy on the dog's nose, LOL...and they always make me think of you and this thread. I hope I can get pics of them. I did snap a few here and there and will post if I'm able.

They do have special meaning to me...each one has it's own....it may sound silly to explain...but at the moment of seeing them they seem to remind me of someone special that I'm missing right then. Weird how they show up at all the right moments, isn't it? ;-)

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Hope you will all join us on the new thread, part 3:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1251550/

See you there!
