Dahlia - Thank you for your stamp of approval on my dahlia-naming liberties! I appreciate that! I will go to the dahlia forum and see what your Florida devotee has to offer. I was planning to put mine directly in the ground. Do you advise putting them in pots instead? I left the minis I planted last year in the ground. It will be instructive to see how those have faired, I think. I wondered if the tubers would rot in the summer with all the tropical rain there.
Bill - nice stone! I like the moss and lichen too, but if it obscures the pretty quartz, I can see your dilemma. I, too, would like to see your long view.
Have a plant with a story?
DonnieB here is a link to the GA Dahlia Society which has some growing advice for the hot south. They are the best resource for southern dahlia growers that the DG dahlianuts have found so far. http://www.dahliasocietyofgeorgia.com/Dahlias%20That%20Grow%20Well%20in%20the%20South.htm
Oh, thanks, Dahlia!! I appreciate the link! Going there right now...!
Anything to enable dear DonnieB ^_^ I think it's actually required in the constitution of Dahliaholics Anonymouse. ps we voted for Anonymouse because it sounds cuter that Anonymous. For once not a dahlianut typo ^_^ CRAPPOLA DonnieB I have a RULE with myself that I won't hyjack threads to dahlias because it would SO happen always. Dmail me or meet me on the fabby Dahlia Forum. Ok now of course everyone else will be jealous cuz we're smoozing in private ^_^ Sorry all. Back to wonderful plants with a story.
LOL, Dahlia! Don't these particular dahlia plants have a story of sorts??? They are moving to a new home to begin a long tradition of such. LOL
Very very nice, Bill! To quote Hank, "Wow, he's got a talent for landscaping, doesn't he!" Nuff said! By the way, any crowing at dawn?????
Ah, Wha. Now we see the full picture, that's a big stone. The moss works nicely here. Did you suffer Internet withdrawal?
Martha, skunks like the crickets hiding in the Hens & Chicks. They have hit mine a couple times.
Nice long view, Bill. Glad you're back on line.
thx louise and Hank - no crowing - maybe crying sox down 5 zip and i'm heading for bed. i'll post a pic of "your" rock tomorrow
The rock looks like it grew up there wha. Nice planting job!
