Seen on the door of my shed in SE Massachusetts.
CLOSED: Spider ID
This is a jumping spider (family Salticidae); it looks very much like Platycryptus undatus - see http://tinyurl.com/mm4mxl for an image of a specimen from Massachusetts.
This one was much bigger than the Daring Jumper I saw at the beginning of the summer. Still pretty small though.
It's behavior matched up with what I read - it was on a vertical service and wasn't afraid at all of me.
