Wilting Cutleaf Japanese Maple

We have a cutleaf Japanese Maple that has been wilting and turning brown since Spring. Can someone recommend something we can do for it to bring it out of this "funk" before winter hits? The tree is about 4 years old, is on the east side of the house so gets morning sun.
