On behalf of our friend from China, Jianhua, I regret to inform about his sad bereavement. His father who was ailing for sometime left this world early this week, aged 80. Only a few days before, he had shared with us the good news about the arrival of his second baby, a boy. Now soon after this, this tragedy has struck his family. Thanks for Dinu to release this sad news to the gardening friends.
And thanks for all of my gardening friends who send comforts to me.
Father is an honest and just man, and he is especially pitiful for the weak.
As a teacher, he devotes his time and energy to the education cause, and wins widely praisal both by his students and comrades.
As a parent, he is highly responsible for the family. He himself never wastes money but saves quite a sum from his savings for us sons and sister.
Father is never involved in politics, and buries himself in learning. He is a contributor to many magazines and newspapers, whose articles mainly cover popular science for high school students, and old local tales. Now I keep them in my study.
Father passed away, yet his soul will forever be with us. His teachings to us will always be a guide to us.
Peace be with Father.
And thanks again for all of you.
Jianhua
PS. I will post some of my father's works on popular schence with drawings later on.

Father is like a lighthouse, guiding me to sail at sea,
but now he is away from me. The loss cannot be made up.
In memory of my father, here I post some of his works.

Beautiful Jianhua. Why not start a blog?

(Zone 7a)

I think this is a wonderful idea. If you have the time, that is.

I'm very much enjoying this.

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

http://konanurmylarrao.blogspot.com/ I've tried to document some of my ancestors' specialties there.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Jianhua, I've enjoyed reading about your father and can only imagine your sense of loss. It's neat seeing his drawings. I agree, if you have the time, a blog would be a wonderful means of sharing his legacy.

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

In our family, I'm the one who has taken the interest to collect and document whatever I could about the forefathers and other older relatives who have left the world many years back. It is an advantage in that aspect when the next generation is also boys for the records to be kept alive. I'm sure Jianhua will collect whatever he can and put it together in one place (a blog) for all of us to see and learn from the wisdom of his late father. He himself is a fine poet.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I'm sending my condolences also. Its never easy to say good bye.
Welcoming a new born can be like saying hello to a lost member..Best wishes T&P to you

Father has gone away from us. We are in deep sorrow, yet we will go on well with our way to console Father's soul in heaven.
Dinu's sugestion is good that I start a blog in memory of my father. When I have come back from the sorrow, I will be sure to do so.
Thanks so much for all of you who join in this thread and help me through the sad period.

Jianhua,
Time is a great healer. One has to endure the process. I've been through it too when I was 23. It took me some time to accept the reality and the family responsibility was on my shoulders, entirely. There was an Anglo-Indian old lady whom I met often. I've written a blog remembering her here: http://mysoreanmusings.blogspot.com/2009/03/browns-my-old-pals.html During one of my visits which was soon after my father's death, Mrs.Brown had told me, “You are young, put your chest forward, shoulders back and be bold, face it.” Those words still reverberate even now. I have mentioned the quote there. It was an interesting friendship that ended abruptly.

I know how you and your family will be feeling now at this time. When things settle back on the home and mental fronts, you can build up the story in a tribute to your beloved father.

Yours in sympathy,
Dinu

Jianhua, you father shall live forever in the memories you pass on to your new son, Bochang, and the eyes of your elder son Bowang.
Deepest regrets for your family's loss.
