How do you grow cantalope that are sweet?

Well 6 of one half a dozen on the other. We live on a flood plain so...ya kinda get used to the wet and if its too dry here either way, things got a weird way of growing here!

Just noticed this thread.

My problem was similar to Homers with one slight difference. I did get some sweet melons but interestingly enough, I also got some tasteless ones. Grown under the exact same conditions so I don't get how I could get such wild variations in taste
