Looking for Lilies Journey's End & Enchantement

Agawam, MA(Zone 6a)

I would like to complete some of my lily education by finishing up on getting NALS Hall of Fame Lily Winners and Popularity Winners. I've looked all over the internet trying to find these lilies and can't. I found alot of the older mentioned winners from nurseries in Canada. Please if anyone can give me a led to help find them it would be appreciated. I can't beleive I can't find Journey's End & Enchantment - since they are NALS Hall of Fame Winners.

PS - The lilies I've gotten thus far are amazing. I can see why they won the polls.

I just did a little searching, and am stunned that I don't see either offered. I remember when they were both very commonly offered by most vendors selling lilies. I'll keep my eye open as I'm perusing sources.

Journey's End was offered several years ago by my lily society (PNWLS) in their Fall Sale. I snagged a couple and hope to see them again. My guess is a Popularity Poll Winner will be back at some time or another. Gives one something to look forward to.

gemini-sage & magnolialover, Thanks for the input.

I recommend purchasing only from a grower/hybridizer to ensure not receiving a fake look-alike. The Lily Garden, B & D, etc. I would not order from one of those generalist catalogs.

pardalinum, I've started ordering only from vendors I've find in this forum and can't believe the difference in the lilies and their beauty. I just can't seem to find anyone that is offering these two oriental lilies which I find hard to believe because as stated earlier they are Hall of Fame Winners. I think I might write to some of the great lily growers/hybridizers and suggest that they find them & include in their offerings. I've started to also realize that they are some of the parents of the great new lilies that are being offered.

Writing or emailing the growers and just asking where you might get these lilies would be a good first step. They just may have a little patch in their back forty and offer you one.

The Lily Garden offered Journey's End to the regional societies in the fall of '06. They said they propagated only enough for that offering. It wouldn't hurt to check with them though.

I will do just that. Thanks

I was looking for Journey's End a couple of years ago--same story:lol: I had seen it in a catalog years before and it was always a must buy even before I was "into" gardening enough to actually want named varieties of stuff or spend money on mail ordering anything:)

Scott Kunst of Old House Gardens might be able to provide some insight into the disappearance of Enchantment. He used to offer it, and he gave a presentation this year in which it was mentioned (look down the page).

I remember it clearly from catalogues of his a few years ago. But it is not offered this year.

DonnaMack, Thanks for the thought. I already wrote to him and he said he had none available.
