Very cute, Will! You have four?!

This is Sarah, a rescue. It took weeks for me to commit, she forced it on me.
Best dog I ever had.

Edited to say:
Before I jinx it, Sarah is live & kicking at 9, about my age in dog years.

Here is Sampson Thunderpaws, a Maine Coon cat. He came to live with us a year ago when his owner died.

Hope y'all don't mind if a midwesterner pops in for a moment! :) Howie and I have stayed with Critterologist and Dea, so maybe we're unofficial northeasterns? LOL

Andy, Dea sent me a link to your picture here. As she told me, Sarah could be our Stella, all grown up! Do you know what mix Sarah is? Andy, I guess I'd never seen a picture of Sarah before, or I didn't remember her coloring until Dea linked here.

Our brindle pup even has the white on her chest, just not on her face.

We don't know with Stella, who we got from a lady who pulled her from a North Carolina pound when she was 7 weeks old. So, we brought her to the dog warden to ask him if she looked like she is a pit mix since Ohio law requires canine insurance on "dangerous" breeds. We figured, it's his opinion's what matters when it comes to that! Well, he laughed and said no. He told us to put boxer mix down on her dog license registration.

She's 5 months old, weighs 26 lbs and is 16.5" tall at her shoulders.

That is not even a boxer face.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

What would you guess? Her nose was shorter, but it's growing longer as she ages. She's not going to be too big, I'd think. Her paws aren't big and she would be a lot bigger by now, wouldn't she?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Loving all the furry friend pics.
Gardenwife, she looks like some kind of pit mix to me.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

GW, Sarah was listed as a Pit/Lab mix at the pound. That's one reason it took me so long to decide on her along with the broken leg.
Your Stella doesn't look like a pit, her tail is too fluffy, the legs are too long too. She's a Heinz 57 mutt, the best kind. Pits are stocky with a 'rat' tail. The brindle coat is misleading, many breeds have it.
Sarah is 22 " at the shoulders, 43 pounds with a deep chest like a Boxer. My Heinz 57, lol.

I certainly see the resemblance with Stella and Sarah! I would guess that Stella certainly has terrier in her backround, but terriers are a large and varied group of dogs. Both Stella and Sarah look like they have been dipped in gold. Very pretty.

Everyone's pets are handsome indeed. I love seeing all the pics!

Dea, Cap and Scout bring back great memories for me. I had a GSD and a Lab. They were the best of buds but with very different personalities. I referred to George as the sergeant at arms and Charcoal as the court jester. Can you guess which was the GSD? :)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

LOL - and as you can see by the photo....Miss Scoutie's paw unabashedly covering Mr Caps....yup, she may be small, but she's definately in charge :)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Hah, get the feeling the lab was the court jester, Venu. ;)

Sarah's so pretty. I've always loved brindle dogs, so's Howie. When we saw her on Craig's List, we were both smitten.

Luvsgrtdanes, your picture made me laugh aloud!

I'll start a thread about Stelly in the pet forum at some point.

Oh, sure---just when I don't have a camera, a great thread comes along! Just kidding, I've posted the dale & pointer photos before, & even my wolfhound who passed. Will post them again---I've thoroughly enjoyed everyone's photos! My 2 grandd. had their first experience with losing a pet---their Poppy's old GSD died a few days ago---HayHay, Anni, & their Mom found Sadie floating in the pond where she liked to go to cool off---

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I know the loss of a pet is educational for children, but that is incredibly sad. At least Sadie left this earth in a favorite place.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Stella is a beauty, GW! And feel free to pop in our forum anytime!

Samson is gorgeous, Maria. I've always loved Golden Retrievers.

Scout and Camp are a wonderful pair, Dea!

Cat - your cats are great! Amazing how Holly poses! ^_^

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Gardenwife, they don't mind us being in OH. I pop in all the time. Stella looks great, dosen't look like a pit at all.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

GW, Howie looks great.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Love the brindle coat on any dog.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

The problem with brindle is you can't see them in the field, lol.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

On a chihuahua there would only be room for one fleck.

The first photo I took with my new camera is of Suey, looking baleful because she hates the camera!

Thumbnail by ROBINDOG

ROBINDOG, Suey is beautiful!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - beautiful, Robin! Why Suey? That was the Crocodile Hunter's dog's name.

Here is Sniff chasing a flying insect. See the claws?!

Ugh - the copyright covered the claw.

Looks like he's boxing!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

He's quicker than Ali!

New York, NY(Zone 6b)

I love all of your pet photos. Here is one of Torrie. She does not like to cooperate when I take the camera out, even without the flash and on pet mode. I got her to stay still by making snapping sounds with a sheet like I was taking out the wrinkles. Then she was right there in the middle of it.

She let me take a few more before she moved away. I asked her if she wants a rub since I was holding a brush in the other hand, she was ready for one.

I see that the photos are not too clear because a flash was not used, I think that is the problem.
