CLOSED: Need a white moth ID please...

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Hello again Suunto,

Sorry to trouble you again...
I really do try to do my homework before asking for help :)
I've searched online and in the 2 Butterfly/Moth books I have and there was no pics on a pure bright white moth with a red head/area like this one. I took this pic back in June...
BTW, is there any really good field guides I could buy that you would recommend? I have the 2 Peterson's Field guides that I've been using. i also search the "Bug Guide" and "What's this Bug" among other links sites...
Guess I'm just still a newbie and this learning curve is a long one...LOL
TIA :)

This could simply be an agreeable tiger moth (Spilosoma congrua) that has had some of its prothoracic hairs rubbed off. See http://tinyurl.com/meexej for an intact specimen.

You are appreciated for all your help...thank you!

The Moth Photographers Group site is great for moths, especially if you have a head start on where to look, by family or subfamily in the Plate Series:

Maryland Moths is another good one:

Warning: Identifying moths can turn you into a night owl!
