Ok, date's been set, place is set, all we need is food!
Let me know what you can bring...appetizer, main dish, side dish, salad or dessert. As Donna stated, please bring your drink of choice and ice if you need it..(.my icemaker only makes 80-100 cubes in 24 hour period! Serious! ) I will furnish water and iced tea.
Napkins, plates, plastic forks, knives, spoons and cups will be furnished also so don't worry about that.
Anything you can contribute will be greatly enjoyed and appreciated.
I will add everyone's names and what they are bringing below so be sure and check periodically to make sure I have everyone down.

I will definitely make the leek tart. Hopefully Louise has a food processor and a tart form and we can go shopping for all the ingredients for the tart Thursday evening.
I do and yes we can!
Chinese Cabbage Chicken Salad and some kind of dessert....
Can't hardly wait.
Collard green soup (homegrown collards) and a yummy bread here! Some sort of appetizer.
Louise, is this the soup that you made for us the last time we were there ?
Dried Apricot & Cranberry Apple Cake
Yup Rodica, that's the soup.
Yumy !
I've got some late cantaloupe that should be ready about then and hopefully some fresh tomatoes.
Is there an oven I can use to bake a couple of pans of my buttermilk biscuits??? They're just not the same baked at home and made to travel.
I'll have some kind of fresh jam for the biscuits as well.
Maybe I'll bring some pecan pie muffins.
Can we make requests??? Kanita!!!! You know what we want.
Yes, DP there is an oven! I gave up cooking over a fire outside long ago!
Weegy, did you see my post above?
Oh, those biscuits are good, DP! Fresh out of the oven? WoooHooo!
I sure did Kathleen, I'm waiting to see if more post today before I edit again. I think the last time I did a food thread, I was limited to a certain amount of edits a day.
Thank you for offering the goodies all.
Shoulda known you were on top of it!
You give me too much credit! I should have posted acknowledging your post.
Louise;
I assumed you had progressed beyond open fire cooking. I guess I was just trying to be polite and make sure it wasn't taken up with other things.
Fact is, I've 'baked' my biscuits in a dutch oven over a fire a few times when camping, so if that's what I needed to do I'm capable. LOL.
I was just having fun! And polite you were. Can't wait for the delicious aroma of buttermilk biscuits to envelope the house!

I knew you were dear. Just poking back. I just can't wait. It's gonna be so much fun. I've been seed collecting all afternoon.
I also have some Cleopatra Cannas I can divide and bring a few of.
I guess that belongs on the plant thread though huh?
You sound like alot of fun! Can't wait to meet you.
Louise;
I met a few of the So. Cal folks at the Spring RU at John and Kathleen's, but I'm really looking forward to meeting all the others. Also our AZ folks. That's where I'm from and it's always good to see home folks so I'm excited about meeting marie and RODICAP.
The 26th is my oldest DGDs 6th birthday. The plan has been for her to go to Disneyland with her Aunt. (free admission on your birthday) The plans are a little unsettled at the moment so there's a possibility that her birthday party is going to be on the 26th instead of the 27th as has been planned. I'll be really bummed if it changes at this point, 'cause I can't miss her b'day and I don't want to miss the R.U. But you can guess which I'll choose.
At worst, I'll find a way to send plants for the trade table. Think good thoughts for her Disneyland trip!!!!!
Randy
Randy, hope it's not necessary, but you can drop anything off here and we can deliver for you.
Kathleen.
I hope it's not necessary also, but thanks for the offer.
Awww, darn, but I understand. I'm thinking good thoughts but whatever happens, happens. You'll enjoy Rodica and Marie, they're very good people.
The 28th is my oldest dd's birthday...yikes she'll be 30...how can that be??? I'm only 25!
I know what you mean, I'm a little older than you, I'm 29, but somehow my son is 32. Still can't figure that one out.
LOL!
Randy,
We had a RU on my grandson's birthday 2 yrs. ago and since I get to see him all the time, my DH showed up for both of us....I couldn't not go to a party that I was involved with. LOL
Guess I'm older than both of you at 30....lol My DD's and little sisters birthday is also on Aug. 28th.
Oh Donna, you must have JUST turned 30, you don't look a day over 26!!!
You little devil... ;-p lol
Louise, thanks for the vote of confidence. LOL
I've met plenty of you at the swap last year and I do not remember seeing anybody over 25 years old.
Is that why we all still get carded when we buy alcohol ?
You better believe it. ! :O)
weegy12....Look like I'll be able to get the day off to meet you all and have a wonderful time. My DH will come also. We'll bring turkey wraps and some type of wonderful dessert ( haven't decided what yet) I love to cook, that my profession. Must look up some wonderful recipe to delight you all as you have delighted me with all your helpful posts.
Sylvia
We're always very appreciative of food......
That's great Sylvia, looking forward to meeting you.
I will bring lemongrass ground chicken kebabs and steamed rice. I'm not sure what will be ready for picking from the garden that week so can't really promise "garden fresh" stuff.
Geez I have missed all the food talk. No clue what I will do but maybe we can hit up a bakery for something sweet :o)
Hmmmm, I'm sure we can think of something.
