Dame Daphne du Maurier - Two Faced Purpurea

Birmingham, United Kingdom

This one seems to breed true, I have called her Dame Daphne du Maurier a cross between Sydney and Flake.

Very odd in that one side will always be Sydney purpurea the other blue flake, I have also had Sydney and Blue Flake blooms on the same plant.

Side view; bit dark as I had to get up early and then go back to bed...and then laze around the house.

By the time the sun came out all shriveled.

RSM - That is quite lovely! Was this F1 hand-crossed to get this new vine? Very cool looking bloom you got there!

Hey thanks; I just look on CNN and saw a tropical storm in Florida, hope everyone keeps well and keeps safe, just glad we don't get these things here.

That was just me going mad with the paint brush; I never expected it.

Weird huh?

It was shrivelled by 2pm...!

The other plant I have is a flaked sydney...

No tropical storm here yet. And those I don't worry too much about.

It's actually the storms lined up coming from Africa towards us right now that have me a little concerned ...

Stay tuned. I start school on August 24. The past few years we have had a hurricane warning the first week of school. :-(

One thing ... it's alway exciting to live near the coast of Florida - whether it be the east coast or the west Gulf coast ...you can bet there will be some action starting this time of year! =:-O
