The attached picture is what I think is the larvae stage of some insect, but I'm not sure. I've looked online but can't find anything like it. It was found in a small hole, about pencil-eraser size, and I fished it out with a blade of grass which it preceded to grab with it's pincers. It has six short legs right below its head. The head is white, but rather flat. It also has a small hump about 3/4 down its body. I'm going to attach a few pictures and I hope someone can help me identify this beast!
CLOSED: strange unidentified larvae (I think)
This is a larva of a tiger beetle (Coleoptera: Carabidae; subfamily Cicindelinae) - see http://tinyurl.com/oc44my. They are voracious predators on anything small enough to nab that gets too close to ts burrow. Tiger beetles formerly were placed in a family of their own, Cicindelidae.

Awesome! That's definitely it! Thanks so much for the help...I'll keep an eye on it and maybe get some pictures in adult form.
