This critter was indoors at a roadside resturant Museum located in Kunigami Okinawa, Japan. So, far I've been unable to identify it. The closest clue I've gotten is it may be some sort of silkworm moth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
CLOSED: Silkworm Moth ?
This is not a silk moth, but an owlet moth (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae); likely Erebus ephesperis - see http://tinyurl.com/mbxppg for an image.
