This caterpillar has been hanging around my silver buttonwoods for a few days. I'd love to know if he is friend or foe, and if friend, what butterfly will he turn into (if at all!). So far he's the only one I've spotted, though I'm sure there's siblings out there. He's a soft brown shade with a greenish underside.
I've seen plenty of butterflies lately but haven't found a lot of information on silver buttonwoods being host plants for any of them. Can anyone help?

Dalia, It is a bit hard to tell exactly what you have there. If you can, try for a clearer picture of them, and post it in the Insect and Spider forum, which is open to all, subscriber and non-subscriber. There are folks who check that forum regularly with a ton of knowledge about the critters that climb on our plants. Someone there should be able to give you the info you are after.
I used my cel phone camera so that's as good as it gets. I took another pic today (he's grown!) which I hope is a better one to post on that other forum.
Thanks for responding.
Dalia
You are very welcome. I am sure someone there will be able to help you.
