Pawpaw seed

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get these started. I put out some a year ago and did it the way I was told to do it and they never germinated. Can anyone help?

The site below has answers to all your questions - I simply did a google search:

Thanks Kay. I usually do the seach thing but sometimes for what ever reason I can't find exactly what I am looking for. I saved your seach so I would know what to do.
Thanks again

Hello flowerfantasy, I used washed out milk containers. The 1lt. ones that are made of cardboard and then waxed. Just make sure there are drainage holes. Pawpaw will send out a very long taproot before you see anything above the soil. I kept my seed in damp pearlite for several monthes in my fridge crisper, then planted them in February. I had them in the basement in a fairly warm place. I moved them out when the weather had warmrd up, but no direct sunlight in the first year. Robb

Well after all that I have read I may have a couple growing and just don't know it yet LOL.
I do have a few more seed that I am going to try and do the winter sowing on and then maybe I'll have a better chance of seeing what is going on with them.

I filled a small plastic refrigerator container halfway up with sand, sprinkled the seeds ont top, then covered those with sand. I put them in the fridge for about 10 weeks during the winter and sowed them in spring. I believe every single one of them germinated.

Well I just hope I can get them to do their thing. LOL I am willing to try all and any suggestions.
