CLOSED: Black widow spiders

Concord, CA

Hello, I have been noticing more and more black widow spiders around my house. I dont want to kill them as they seem to keep to themselves and stay near they're web. I guess my question is.. should I consider trying to control the population (and be afraid they will take over my house) or just live with them knowing they are part of everything else out there?

If you have small children or pets, I would try to control them. They could make a small child or pet very sick and, in some cases, kill them.

i've been bitten and it can, in rare instances, be life-threatening and at the very least, be a painful experience that you wouldn't want to go through.

having said that, you cannot totally eliminate them; they seem to like your area but i would certainly spray the ones in your home and close to your home. if you have children or pets, then absolutely get rid of them either by killing them or moving them to a safe location further from your home.

i hope more people will give their two cents on this question. my answer is based on fear! lol

EEk! I've never been biten but I do move them outside when I see them. Only 2 instances but they can be more helpful outside than in.
