I have collected some canistel seeds, some of them still have fruit adhering to them, should I wash them off, gut is telling me not to but hubby is telling me I should, which one?

I just came across your thread, sorry that no one stopped in to post.

Here is a link after a very quick google search.

This might help you for next year.

One thing I did learn after attending a seed collecting class at a local arboretum was for seeds that have a fleshly outcovering that does need to come off then let the hard seed dry before storage. and most of those types need a cold saturation and then a warm and some even need another cold before they will break dormancy

Janet, thanks for the info, I have given away all the seeds, minus their flesh and have lotz of people say they are growing madly, mine is about to come into fruit again, sorry hubby and I do not care for the fruit, but the tree is lovely!
