I got up the other day and they were devouring my eggplant. They weren't there the day before. I picked them off, but wondering what they were as I've never seen these before.

These are larvae of the false potato beetle, Leptinotarsa juncta; Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae. See http://tinyurl.com/mf9tzw and http://tinyurl.com/mb8l47
Oh yes, there was one of those false potato beetles on the plant too. Picked her off too. Very well, now I know. Thanks so much!
