Hope you have a wonderful day!
Happy Birthday Singing Wolf!
Good morning Jules and a very Happy Birthday to you. :-)
Kathleen, that is a lovely flower...:-)
Donna
Wish I could claim the flower, Donna! DH took that picture in Costa Rica. They were growing on the pathways around the eco-resort we stayed in on the Caribbean side. I was looking for a nice photo of a beach for Jules, and found that one instead.
Happy, happy birthday to you Jules. Hope it's filled with plant shopping and no work!
Happy, happy...I hope someone is taking you out to dinner......
She must be out and about doing something today.....lol
She's looking at frogs!
Busted! Yep, was looking for a frog prince. Found SR. Chile Pepper instead. LOL!
Thank all of you for your Birthday Greetings and Blessings. I do appreciate each and every one of them. Loved all the photos too!
I'm being lazy, went on a photo safari, looking for the burrowing owl nest. Not sure I found it, but I did find evidence. I'll post the photos later. Still trying to capture those hummers. Got some great backyard bird photos to post too. I guess I'm trying to avoid the ant invasion and enjoy the day anyway.
DH and the boys are fixing me dinner at home. I don't care what it is (except sushi), as long as I get some Cherry cheesecake. LOL!
Am feeling really tired today. Must be the driving lessons I'm giving YS. Noticed a few more white hairs today too. Oh well. I came by them honestly.
So far I've been having a good day, quiet, but that is good, I'm inexplicably tired (wow I spelled inexplicably right the first time!). A good day to rest and relax. Figure out what I'm going to do next.
Like figure out why I seem to find the instruction manual for the new camera a sleep aid. LOL!
Siesta time!

I well remember teaching my son to drive. He learned in my MGB GT with a stick shift and for the longest time I wouldn't let him drive anywhere except the stretch of Old 395 by us that is just a straight shot of road....back and forth, back and forth...the first time I let him drive home from there he was approaching a sharp curve toward home and going waay too fast....I think that's when the thought of gray hair entered my mind. Any time after that if I've ever gotten any static from him I remind him...I took you out and taught you to drive.....
♪♪♪ Happy Birthday To You ♪♪♪ ^_^
Started getting mine when I taught my niece to drive. Seems I'm a better teacher, although it's really hard on me, it will be worth it. Keep telling myself that, so I sure hope it is worth it.
Thing is, when we learned how to drive, people still had manners, (except in Santa Ana/Garden Grove interchange). Now people drive so aggressively, I'm scared to get in the car.
Thanks for the Bday song, Sally.
At least you didn't add like my brothers would have, "You look like a monkey, and you smell like one too!". Growing up with 4 brothers is never boring.
DH & boys made me dinner tonight, so I'd better go eat.
Thank you each and everyone for making this a better birthday for me.
I feel truly Blessed.

After paying for a driving instructor for several weeks at the beginning of his 16th summer, DH & I shared driving instruction for our son. Although DH also taught me to drive when I was 19 (mom wouldn't let me) we have very different driving styles. DS is an interesting combo of both of us. I remember it as a nerve-wracking, patience-stretching experience that didn't end for years!! Again, glad I only had one kid....LOL!
Hope you had a wonderful b'day, Jules, and that the glow lasts for a week!
One kid here, too. I would not have wanted to do it again...lol...meaning teaching another to drive, but I don't think I would want to have another either...When I get any static from the DH, once again it comes up..."I'm the one who took him out and taught him to drive....."
Thanks, ima. My hat's off to you wcgypsy, teaching your DH to drive.
I keep telling my boys that one of them is a spare. I just haven't decided which one yet. You know, I changed all the diapers on our two boys, and it doesn't seem fair that I have to teach them to drive too. Especially, after I survived teaching their Cousin (who I had custody of). Better me than their Dad. He took ES out for his first lesson and came back five minutes later with part of a telephone pole embedded in my beloved jeep. I took photos. The phone pole is still standing, but it's been side swiped since. It's a tricky dg covered corner. At least our youngest is so cautious, I don't have to worry about him going too fast.
I might be terrified, but I'm not bored! : O
Life is grand and except for the birds, a lizard, cats and the dogs, I have the house to myself tonight! Wow! I just don't remember the last time I had the house to myself.
Well it's getting late and there is a piece of Cherry Cheesecake, in the fridge with my name on it.
Thanks y'all for all the Birthday Blessings and Wishes!

Another Happy B/D late; just keep celebrating!
Belated Happy Birthday Singing Wolf!!!
We are fellow August birthdays! I wonder if we might also share the same spirit aid animals from our native version of the horoscope!? I'll have to look into it and get back to you on it.
Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. I have been wondering where everyone was in the other threads I'd been watching in the California Gardening forum.
Have fun with your camera! The little sister that moved north, gave me one of her old cameras and I wondered why she was being so generous...... It IS a better camera, but it eats batteries and there was no manual for it to put me to sleep, ha, ha! So instead I have explored it by trial and error.
BTY, Larry is actually Cardinal. How is he doing?
Tiger Boy and Cheetah Girl (aka Gary and Marion) think they are hot now that they are in the cat version of teens. And I believe Tiger Boy is a very rare breed of cat called a Sokoke. His markings are incredible. And he fits the behavior profile as well.
Did you get to chow down on cherry cheesecake for your birthday?
And was the sushi a good thing or a bad thing? Something you did or did not want ;-)
PC - look online for a manual, most mfgs have them.
You are right KaperC, this mode of camera is outdated, but they did send me a pdf of the manual. Aren't pdf's great? Don't know if you are old enough to remember waiting for things in the mail and the note "can take 6-8 weeks for delivery!!"
Rhipsilis are blooming. They are so cute, such itty bitty simple flowers on the tips. I don't think this camera can catch that kind of close up detail, so I am going to hope one of them is still doing it when my friend Bob comes over with his really cool camera.
Tiger Boy says hi Singing Wolf!
Larry Cardinal is thriving! Thank you for the Birthday Wishes.

Happy happy BD, girlfriend!!
Linda and The MopTops
I am going to try and make it to that round up I read a bit about. In a time crunch. It would be so cool to meet everybody! I was thrilled for a moment there SW, I thought having it at your place was a great idea.
Been very, very, very bad this morning. Went and got 10 new varieties and am considering going back for the big expensive one I left behind.....Rohees New Millenium
It is stunning!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe in the spring when it is green and wearing her best clothes? Too soon to talk about the next RU.
We need to catch up on the fuchsias too, CatSmiling!
Thanks for the Birthday wishes Linda. Give them Mop tops a hug from me and Spirit!

Jules
