Quite right, Resin. However, they are commandeering the nesting hollows of some of the smaller or less boisterous native parrots and it is thought that the numbers of some native species are in decline as a result, ie their decline can't be attributed to other environmental or biological factors.
DAILY PICS. VOL. 236
Great pics everyone!
Margaret, Absolutely love the Osprey, Corrella's. That female Osprey is gorgeous!
Beautiful Great Blue Heron Mrs Ed!
Yours too Lily. Nice to see them in a tree.
Tiger, Nice shots, love the Western Sandpipers!
Go Tiger!
Wonderful pics all the way through the thread....can't wait for your new Osprey thread, Margaret. Figures Dad would go for a young thing!
So nice to see your wonderful pictures again, Margaret.
Love the Herons, and the sandpipers. I scared a sandpiper yesterday, and he in turn scared me, because I didn't see it there. Another missed shot.
Nanny great shot of your water/shore bird. :0)
Duc I'll trade you, some grackles for the Orioles kids.
The titmice looks so sweet, wish they would visit me.
Adel, I can't find that one in my book.
Hadn't seen this one in a while.
Chipping Sparrow.
...it landed on a branch nearby. The Heron as well as geese, these are quite tame. I found they would allow boaters quite close before they're spook. Where as white Egrets are much more shy. I didn't see any egret on this trip. But have spotted a Common Loon. (I wasn't quick enough to get a pix of the Common Loon, however).
Great shots guys!
Margaret that would be great. I even have a Norfork Pine for them!
Burn, I have plenty of Orioles to give you too and I love those Grackles. Cute photos of the sparrow, dove & finch too!
Lily, great photos of the geese and heron. Hope you catch that loon next time.
Dave, your Cardinal is beautiful.
One of my juvie Scrub Jays was grooming for me.
Oh that is so cute Tiger! Great shot.
Beautiful Jays duc!
Are you going to post your second shot Lily? The first one really is great!
I was down in southern Virginia this morning and came back via the ferry from Surry to Jamestown/Williamsburg. Mine was one of the first cars to load and I discovered there was an osprey on or beside a nest on a piling, not 20 feet from me! I had fortunately brought my 400mm lens so I had about 10 minutes to click away at her. I got a few good shots if anyone is interested. She kept an eye on me but didn't move although she did stand up as the ferry pulled away from the dock.
At one point her mate flew overhead and in this shot, she is yelling at him.
Dave
Juvie Scrub Jay is a cutie!!
Pretty egret Lily!
That shot is awesome Dave!!
