CLOSED: A HUGE Yellowjacket? ID please...

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I saw this on our screen door that leads to our backyard. I froze in terror when I saw it. Thankfully it wedged itself between the glass and the screen when I took this pic. It was about 2" long! I'm used to seeing yellowjackets about an inch long...but this one was a giant!
TIA " :)

Do not walk barefoot outside I got stung by one of these last week and my toe still hurts. I even broke into a cold sweat, had to come inside and lay down. My toes got twice the size and they went numb but after taking some Benadryl and a nap I was nearly 100% within a few hours.

I love walking barefoot but I think I learned my lesson. LOL! Feeling a little better tonight. Thank you! Glad you were able to get your ID. You do the same.

You ought to see them when they have captured a cicada. Flying along with the huge cicada dangling below them...makes you want to duck even if the are 8 feet in the air.
