Is Larix americana an accepted name? I think it's the same species as Larix laricina, but I don't find any references for them being synonyms. The RHS Conifer Registry doesn't list L. americana, and neither does the American Conifer Society database, but I think they use the RHS list anyway.

*sigh* For some reason, the RHS website has been lacking in their updates. The next best reliable website I use is GRIN, and they have Larix laricina as the current name with Larix americana and Pinus laricina (basionym) as synonyms. http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/taxon.pl?21499
