August blooms

Look at all the buds on that Fruit Salad!!

The Tahitian Sunset is a very photogenic plumie, it won me my first prize last year ^_^

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I like all the yellows

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, guys.

Nery, I like the yellows very much too. They tend to smell the best with the exception of 'Spidery Yellow,' which has no fragrance at all.

Hetty and Davie, both TS and the fruit salad have big flower heads, which makes them really great for sure.

Gosh my plumies look terrible! Nery,I ididn't know you had such healthy and beautiful plumies!!! Or any for that matter! LOL

All of these are so great! I want the one you just posted Clare. All those buds excite me!

Oh Clare, are you planting yours directly in your garden now? No pots? You will be able to have huge trees where you are, 10B right?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Hi Kell! Yes, many of mine are in the ground now, but I still have about 70 or so in pots. They should grow bigger now that the roots have some room, but I'll have to keep them fairly trimmed, I think, because they are planted 6-8 feet apart. Yes, I'm in 10b, I think! LOL! It gets down to 35 here in the winter at the coldest and only for a few hours before sunrise.

That is going to be a plumie jungle!

I have seen pics of huge plumie trees. So they can get that big where you are?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

and I guess that means you don't have to uproot for winter? If yes, then you will have a plumie jungle.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Finally, after getting blown over in 3 different rainstorms and battling ridiculous heat, my poor little NOID has inflors...This will be the first blooms for it, as Hurricane Gustav took away its buds last year...well, buds and a couple branches.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Yes, I'm going to leave them in the ground, and they do get big -- up to 30 feet tall eventually. I'm going to have to prune and will probably remove some trees to make room for other ones to grow.

Yeah! I finally have blooms on my noid plumeria. It smells like apricot.

Looks like it might be Aztec Gold.

how long do you think before I could get blooms from a cutting.

Central, LA(Zone 8b)

Beautiful blooms Ladies...so delicate looking.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

There is a guy out by me who has 3 Aztec Gold plumeria and they are big. He said he would take 50 dollars a piece. Plus he gives a NOID free. His Noids are from his plants that broke off and he just stuck them in the dirt and did not mark them.

This picture is of the 3 azetec gold. They one in the front is mine and I forget its name but it is wrote on it. See the trunks on those Aztec Gold? He has to move and is selling half of what he has around 100 because his yard will be smaller. Anyone from Houston want to go see them I would be glad to meet anyone at I-10 and Hwy 146 and it is maybe 4 miles from there. He has an evergreen and curly white, curly pink not sure what else. They range from 20-50 dollars and you get a free NOID with each one you buy and the Noids are nice plants. All are too big to ship.. JLMK

wow, that is a pretty good deal. i don't need any more plants that I have to haul in this winter. Not only that, buy I may have to dig out a few plants!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I understand. I just had to buy a few of his. His Dad collocted them from all over. Bali, you name it if he traveled he brought back cuttings he took. He had a license to do that.

Here is a picture of his but you can't see them all. This is only half the size or less of his green house.

The Aztecs are not cheap at $ 50 - they are pretty common and grow like weeds, but the other plants may be of interest if they are a decent size.
You could always sell on some of the cuttings....

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

As big as the trunk of those Aztec are and 6 ft tall with quite a few points is not cheap at 50 dollars? He was getting 100.00. I have not seen many cutting of the commons for less than 8.00 if that cheap. But than I don't shop for them much ever.

If I have the money I would sell cuttings on ebay. But I love Plumerias so much I bet I would not cut it. lol

Maybe a good deal for Texas but here in Florida they are very common.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

I agree with Hetty about $50 being pretty expensive for 'Aztec Gold,' which is pretty common -- even given the size. I've been selling at reduced prices this year due to the economy. I just sold some big ones for $35 each, and they were named varieties such as 'Dean Conklin,' 'True Blue' from Oz, and 'Mango Blush' -- all with 6 tips or more. Maybe you can talk him down if you buy a bunch from him -- ask him for 10% off a large purchase.
