This was just sitting quietly on of my African violet blooms. It posed long enough for me to get several photos, til one was finally clear, then disappeared. Any idea of what it is?
Thanks!

This is a stilt bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Berytidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/ljas3s for an image.
Great! That's it! Thanks! I did a bit of reading about it, and some sites say it damages plants and other sites say it reduces pest damage by feeding on their eggs. So is it a good guy or bad?
That's a good question. This one appears to be in the genus Neoneides, which has been reported as feeding on plants as well as on other arthropods - I guess one could call it opportunistic. I really wouldn't worry about them unless they appeared in large numbers on your plants.
RainGazer. That is a great picture. You really should upload it to the bugFiles.
