CLOSED: Another Sulphur ID needed...

Is this a "Pink Edged", a "Clouded" or something else?
I have so many "Clouded" butterfly pics, but this is the only one with a pink "head". At the same time, from some of the "Pink Edged" pics I've seen, they don't have the line of dots on it's wings either. My head hurts trying to figure this one out...LOL
I checked a few pics online...besides it's bright pink edging on it's wings, it does have a pink "head" too!
I was going to put this in my "Clouded Sulphur" folder, but when I compared it to other Clouded Sulphur images, this one is so different.
TIA :)

This one could very well be a coin toss - part of the problem is that clouded and orange sulphurs appear to interbreed readily, so one can get 'intermediate' forms - see http://tinyurl.com/kononr and http://tinyurl.com/mu9bqb. At any rate, I do not believe that the 'pink edge' to the wings is reliably diagnostic. I wonder if some day, they might be considered subspecies rather than being recognized as separate species...

Hello Suunto,

Well, I'll put this one in it's own folder named "A Pink-Edged Clouded Sulphur"...for lack of knowing what else the Clouded Sulphur bred with (I wasn't there)...LOL
I highly agree with your last statement! Just an FYI, the 2nd link you posted didn't work :(
I'll consider this solved...Thanks so much for all your time and help!!! :)
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Susan
