CLOSED: Can you ID this insect

niagara-on-the-lake, Canada

I found this insect sitting on an old piece of wood that someone was salvaged from a 100 year old barn. I think it is cedar but don't quote me. Unfortunately I didn't get the entire insect in focus and when I went back he was gone.

This is a nymph of a short-horned grasshopper (Orthoptera: Acrididae), likely a Carolina locust (Dissosteira carolina) - see http://tinyurl.com/n6rcds for an image. The adults (see http://tinyurl.com/m9r4mp) are very good fliers.
