CLOSED: Lettuce foes?

I've just pulled out my lettuce because it was bolting. I'd planned to plant more right away but need answers to these questions first.

3 insects were in attendence, white fluffy small cotton balls (mealy worms?), small green bugs sorta rocket shaped, and fuzzy caterpillars.

1) I don't know if the cotton balls were insects or something left by insects but there was a lot of them.
2) The small pale bright green-yellow ones were sorta slim ovoid shaped with points at both ends.
3) The fuzzy caterpiller is a woolly bear.

Are any of these harmful to the lettuce?

Sorry I have no pictures, still haven't found my cameras since the move (almost a year ago!)
