I am checking into the Central Florida DG round-up. I was invited to one when I first joined DG several years ago! But never made it.
gardenpom - Have you ever been to any of the Florida RUs?
I know that Debra actually hosted one this year! Way cool!!! Are there more photos on DG somewhere besides this thread? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/996170/
And I know Emma attends the one in Jacksonville, Texas whenever she can make them. That is the one that Dave (creator of DG) attends too. Very cool! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/870183/
Emma - Is that you with the dark green shirt on drinking from the red cup? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5185622
These RUs look like fun! I hear there are a lot of plant trades going on at these events, too! And food and conversation!
Wouldn't it be cool if we all lived close enough to have a MG Round Up? Wouldn't that be fun to meet and trade plants? :-)
I may attend the Central Florida RU next year if I am able to! It's a bit of a drive for me. Maybe there will be one closer on the East Coast of Florida! :-)

Have you ever been to a DG Round up?
I went to a mini RU last year here in Georgia and had a blast. It is crazy, there were only a few of us, but so much plants! I hear those Florida ones are pretty big. You will have a wonderful time!
Thanks, Nicole for your take on the mini round up that you went to! I have heard about the Florida ones and they do sound great! :-) I think they have them in March or April in Florida before it gets too hot. :-)
Hi Becky,
Yep, this is me sipping out of the red tea cup.

You will really enjoy the Roundups - especially if they are as great as the ones we have had. We have ours at 'Loves Lookout' in Jacksonville which is high on a hill with a beautiful view - and no matter how hot, the breeze is always blowing through making it even more enjoyable.
I believe we will have another one in September.
Here is Dave at the last RU in May taking down the Banner that Jerry made for him for the Roundups.

No, Becky...I have not been to any of the round-ups in Florida.
I'm getting all holiday in florida feeling!
Joseph with that amount of money you could buy Tokyo, Lol. Hope you had a good trip home.
I'm going to the festival next year with or without ya!
Jon
Just a few days Joseph and I'm sure you'll be just fine, Just try not to sleep during the day and the body clock adjusts very quickly.
Jon
Joseph - If you win the multi-million $$ powerball lottery and invite us on a trip to Japan to see the big JMG festival ... I'm IN!!! :-) :-) :-) But ... we have to make a stop at the Kyushu University Morning Glory Growing Field, too! I want to see that garden of theirs. And I have lots of questions, too! :-)
And Jon can be our interpreter! :-) Wouldn't that be a REAL DREAM trip!!! :-) Sounds really good to me!
A JMG RU in Japan! :-)
I've been to two RU's in the Northeast, and they are just a joy to go to. Everyone is SO nice, and it's great to meet people face to face and talk about plants plants plants (oh, and sometimes other stuff too). And then there's the free treasures and yummy food! Well worth the trip even if you need to drive a bit.
Thanks Emma and drumlin for sharing your experiences and opinions of the RUs you've attended! Y'all are heavily influencing me! :-)
Thank you Rareseedman
Emma
This is my favourite you look like the Queen of Morning Glories taking pride of place in acapulco; take that as a compliment English men have very good taste in women. Maybe it's your hair you look a bit different here.
My acapulco is doing great and I am pleased it seems that it can be propagated from cuttings
The link to the DG Round Up is here with all the photos http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/870183/
There is a really good recipe there as well that I have to try myself; has anyone tried it, it calls for one stick of butter I am wonder if you could use more maybe some extra sugar for energy as well.
You people must have really worked up an appetite all those burgers yum yum! You people know how to eat!
When is the next Roundup? I have two weeks of annual leave and it would be cool to attend!
Becky (and all Central Fl gardeners)
i am thinking of hosting a RU here in Palm Coast.. maybe towards the end of October, when things cool down just a bit. Not definite yet, but where I am is better located so that both peeps South (Orlando and Surrounding area) and North (Jacksonville and St. Augustine) can attend.
Where is Palm Coast exactly?
Never mind ... I googled the location. You are about 4 hours from me. That's a long round trip drive for me. Hmmm ... Don't know. Now that I go back to work, my weekends are shot. I was sure hoping someone from Orlando or south of Orlando would do one. Like a 2 hour drive from me. That way I could stay awhile and visit instead of rushing in and rushing out to get back on the road. You should do one though. I am sure there are lots of folks up in that area that are on DG! :-)
