CLOSED: Time for LazLo's Fall edition of "Mystery Mix 2009", but ...

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Thanks for doing that. I could have did it but I just didn't want him to think I was after him about the seed.

Arroyo City, TX(Zone 9b)

Flower,

I told him I had heard about him from this thread but, the seeds were NOT the reason for the note. I hope he knows I was sincere in that. It would break my heart to think otherwise. No seeds are that important.

Hugs,

Jamie

I'm glad to see you jump in . I am on the seed forum with the other gals and jump around abit. I read your response in the other thread . Gardening it very theraputic and hope it does well for you. I know things can be tough as I have to really be careful as I have a bad back and hips, so I can just imagine for you.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

hopefully, all is ok with him. maybe he just tied up or busy and its nothing terrible.

Greenbush, MI(Zone 4b)

I'm glad to hear someone has sent Lazlo a D mail. Since I put my name in a while ago, I began to worry when I didn't get a response. I hope all is well with him.

I'll be waiting along with the rest of you, and let's hope it is GOOD news!

Last year Lazlo took awhile to get back on a similar thread he started, but he came back when all was well and sent seeds out. He might be with family , on vacation, have bad weather or computor problems, all we can do is hope all is well with him, and I am sure he will be back in no time... ,D

Arroyo City, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks Debra,

I'll keep him on my prayer list and hope it's something good like family or vacation or, something simple like weather or computer. Knowing that this has happened in the past makes it more understandable. I'd love to have his mix after everyone has said such great things about him and the few that have tried them had such fun with them but, knew HE was what was important as everyone else was expressing. I'm sure you put allot of minds at ease.

Hugs,

Jamie

oooor.. maybe he is just so busy trying to put together 'Mystery Mix' packs from all the people who expressed interest, that he just doesnt have time to do anything else...hehehe

I don't know how I missed this because I would love to put in my request for LazLo's Mystery Mix 2009!! I guess it's been awhile since he's responded to this thread....

I hope he didn't take that guy up from Oakview, CA to go back in time!!!!! LOL Seriously though, that guy looks real scary to me.

Hurry back to 2009 LazLo!

Kerkdriel, Netherlands

I would also like to get in on the Mystery Mix 2009 wen LazLo is back. I hope he is just too busy in his Garden and doesn't have time for us.
Is it possible to get in on this from the Netherlands?

Camilla, GA(Zone 8a)

I would love a mystery...

Howdy, Y'all!

The rumours of my demise are grossly exaggerated! LOL !!

Two things happened - - I took a vacation up into Chaco Canyon and then spent some time in Taos getting re-acquainted with an old lover ... and her hubby. But before being able to frolic away from my garden, I had to do a lot of work to help my poor plants make it through the drought - - had to find someone reliable to keep things dampened and such.

Now I am back and on the hunt for interesting seeds, in my own garden and anywhere else I can snatch them! In mid-September I will have the Fall 2009 Mystery Mix ready and I will post about its availability in this forum.

Thanks for your concern - - it's heartwarming to be so expected. Sorry if I cause y'all any worry, though.

Welcome back glad u enjoyed your trip. glad thats all it was.

hope you took names off this thread as everyone is in line. hehe

Lazlo,
The three plants in the bottom of this picture came from the mystery mix you sent me this year. There are no blooms and they are still a mystery to me. Can you identify them and will they come back next year? I hope so as I like them.

This is Duranta Repens. I have this plant in just white and in just purple.
I am looking for this purple with white edges for a long time. No body I know has this plant with these colors. If you have seeds this year I hope you can send me few.
I have sown (??? is this right??) seeds of the purple plant this year and that went very well!

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

I loved Lazlo's mystery mix. The mexican sunflower survived our wet cold spring. BOBYRD, what is the blue plant in your picture? I love blue and they are so hard to find.

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

cathy4 the blue plant is a Duranta. It is actually more purple than blue and it makes a very pretty bush with drooping branches. It also makes yellow berries.

Leeuwtje I would be happy to save and send you some seeds. I think this color is not unusual for this area.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Bonnie - I have a Duranta as well, "Sapphire Showers" - it's one of my favorites. How do you save seeds from it? The little berries? And how do you know when they are ready?

Thanks - Kelly

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Heck if I know? I have to find out but I am pretty sure it has to be the berries. Anyone out there who can help us?

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

You know what - there's a girl on the SW Forum that has them. Maybe she knows. I will ask her . . .

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Plant files say wait until the berries have over ripened. Collect and clean seeds. It also says the seeds don't keep well so sow as soon as possible.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Interesting... Guess we need to figure out what over ripened is - lol.

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes, it is always something!:o)

By the way does anyone know what the fan like plants on the ground under the Dantura are.? Those were the seeds from Lazlo's Mystery Mix.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

They don't look familiar to me. Maybe LazLo will chime in with the answer.
