what a mess
What do you see across the fence
Yes, it is---Paul was the glue that held things together there---we miss him a lot.
Cool perspective.
very cool... I keep forgetting to take these shots
The thread is turning out as I hoped.
Some of you are beauty islands in the midst of mindless nothings and others have gardening neighbors.
Perhaps from your gardening influences.
humm
ooooo, love that former carriage house.
nice Jen & Robin.. I love that carriage house too.. how cool
I love the carriage house too but they need a garden.Lots of possibilities there.
Looks pretty from a distance ... you must have caught them on a clean day!! It is a pretty property.
Yes, it is---it was renovated about 50 years ago by a Mrs. Ruhr, whose husband was the first to mass produce hypodermic needles----they divorced, she moved out of the farmhouse into the carriage house----the maid's room looks like a large closet with a sink in it---she imported young Polish girls, & literally kept them as slaves. Didn't pay her bills---she was finally institutionalized. Our neighbors moved in about 35 years ago, & did have a garden at one time---there is a greenhouse attached to the south side of that house---not used---I'm very jealous of it!
Wow! what a story attached to that house.
Yes - very interesting. Especially the young slave girl part. ^_^
Nice looking open yards, Robindog. At least they are not filled with junk.
I have to snap a pic of the house across the street, you'll cringe, lol.
I knew Victor's imagination would be working overtime on the slave girls.
sigh .... Victor
LOL---the fellow who built our house told us his father made him mow for this woman---she kept saying to him, "Closer to the pond". You can guess what happened!
Its sad she wasnt institutionalized or medicated.
RobinD maybe they would let you use it? I'm a doorbell ringer so I would sail right over and ring-a-ling
They actually don't answer the door! However, I do walk right in & go upstairs---this woman doesn't leave her bedroom very often----we do exchange books, & I'll bring some stuff from the garden---but to be over there using the greenhouse---nope----I'm too shy----or something.
I don't blame you, RD. You would have to be on the best of terms with someone to invest your efforts.
Andy P
sounds "iffy "to me.
I would hate to be in the middle of growing season and get turned out .
yeah that would be heart breaking
I really don't know how much longer they can afford to stay in the house---her husband had cancer, & the bills for the medicine just ate up their money. Very sad.
That is very sad.
yes very
