A bee mimic moth? There's a small green wasp (I think) in the flower, coming out, but hovering in the lower left is a very polite insect that just waited for the wasp to get out. Hard to see in the picture but it has long hooked antennae. (Maryland, July, cucumber blossoms)
CLOSED: maybe a clearwing moth/ Sesiidae
It actually is a bee as well; both appear to be in the family Halictidae (sweat bees) - see http://tinyurl.com/mfvb33 and http://tinyurl.com/ox2cb4 for examples.
Neat! Thanks!
