This appears to be a wolf spider (family Lycosidae). They are active hunters that often enter houses during their search for prey, and although large specimens can bite if handled carelessly (they are not aggressive, and will not 'attack'), they are not dangerous to humans. Also, they are extremely common, and short of hermetically sealing your house, there likely is no way that you can prevent an occasional visit.

welcome to florida. spiders in the house are common. you get used to them and unless you pick one up bare-handed, they aren't going to bite or come looking for you.
